This weeks customer grow comes from a Dutch grower who grew his OG Kush feminized seeds outdoors in The Netherlands. The seeds were germinated indoors and grown outdoors.
The OG Kush feminized seeds have been soil grown in normal dutch garden soil. They were fed with nutrients from Plagron, including Plagron Terra grow, Plagron Terra bloom, Plagron Green sensation and Plagron PK13/14
The summer of 2018 in Northern Europe was unusual, with week after week of sunny weather. It was one of the best summers for decades and outdoor growers made the most of it with some ideal conditions.
With growing conditions more normal for Southern Europe, many Northern European growers took advantage and planted a few extra outdoor autoflower seeds and feminized seeds.
Plants grew rapidly, with warm sunny weather lasting for week after week. Temperatures in the Netherlands regularly reached 25ºC and sometimes higher.
Outdoor growers in northern Europe rarely see such conditions, and many growers produced heavy outdoor harvests.
Rapid early growth was seen thanks to the sunny weather. Northern Europe can see 18 hours of daylight or more and the OG Kush feminized seeds grew well.
Lots of outdoor cannabis growers found 2018 was an easy year to achieve great results.
Once the seedlings had germinated growth was steady. Thanks to some great summer weather growth was rapid. The plants were 2-3m tall by the end, the top quality soil conditions and regular nutrition supplements from the Plagron Nutrients really produced top quality results.
Plants as large as this consume large amounts of water. Growing on your own land means it is easy to get the hose pipe and give the plants a thorough soaking.
Outdoors, with temperatures peaking at over 30ºC, the extra water makes a huge difference to the size and growth rates and regular feeds with the nutrients ensured that the plants grew without mineral deficiencies as well.
With the optimised environmental conditions, the OG Kush plants were pushed to their full potential and delivered an impressive harvest.
The OG Kush plants were in full bloom during September, with frosty trichomes coating the buds.
Indica outdoor varieties are often noted for firm, dense buds and OG Kush is no exception.
The buds develop quickly and are usually ready to harvest around the start of October in the Northern Hemisphere, and around early April in the Southern Hemisphere.
Dense buds can mean a risk of mold or bud rot with some outdoor cannabis seeds, but OG Kush is resistant to pests and disease.
Its a tough variety, as many of the best indica varieties are and it’s uncomplicated to grow, she can grow well under basic conditions.
But as this grow review showed, with some extra care and attention OG Kush feminized seeds can deliver some impressive outdoor results.
It’s worth adding that this variety is usually grown indoors where she is one of the strongest varieties in the Seedstockers collection.
The autoflowering version grows from seed to harvest in around 75 days indoors, and around 100 days outdoors.
By the end of the grow, the blooms were looking impressive. The blooms were long and fat, with plenty of resin frosting.
There was also a large quantity of blooms which had developed over the summer, for a northern European grow the results looked like those from a Mediterranean climate.
The successful grower came from a marriage of 3 key ingredients: Good genetics, good weather and supplemental nutrition.
When all these three factors came together the result was a very special piece of home growing: The plants produced a huge quantity of cannabis.
