Seedstockers participates in Kanabafest, the largest and most important cannabis fair in Poland
After a two year hiatus, the Seedstockers team travelled again! Destination: Kanabafest in Warsaw!
We must admit we missed fairs because they are a beautiful opportunity for exchange, learning and togetherness. They help us broaden our knowledge about the host country and about the ever-expanding cannabis world.
In a world where meetings take place online, fairs offer a unique networking opportunity. Experts and non-experts have the possibility to feel that they belong to a community spread all over the world, moved by the same values and interests. This union creates an incredible energy only understood by those who participate in the fairs!
This is why, with great enthusiasm, we want to tell you about the first of a long series of steps within this 2021.
The trip, as we already mentioned, has led us to participate in the largest and most important cannabis fair in Poland -which this year hosts its fifth edition- Kanabafest.
The venue itself, Praskie Koneser, offers a unique atmosphere. It is located in the Prague district of Warsaw.
It is a modern complex made up of buildings that radiate both history and modernity. Its name “Centrum Koniser” comes from the old Vodka factory located in the same place. This is an excellent example of rehabilitation and expansion of a post-industrial complex.
Before diving into the different aspects of the event, we must clarify several issues concerning the current cannabis laws.
Poland is among the countries with the strictest laws in the European Union on the subject. Possession, cultivation and trade, even of small amounts of marijuana, are punished with very long prison sentences (0-15 years). That is why it is important to be aware of them and not to confront the judicial system.
Regarding seeds, the law punishes sale and cultivation, unless they belong to the list of varieties allowed by the EU. The only way to sell them is as collector’s items and for this reason we cannot provide information on their cultivation. We have clearly adapted to the guidelines of the country.
Kanabafest’s mission is to spread cannabis culture, its history, its uses and the potential of this ancient plant beyond the specialized public. Most of the stands are brands dealing with innovative hemp and CBD products (which in turn cannot be sold unless considered a collector’s item).
There is also an educational zone, an area aimed mainly for debates and free lectures about the use of medical marijuana, hemp cultivation, legislation, or how to improve quality of life through hemp.
And about ourselves, we have had the opportunity to offer a product that has hardly been present in any fairs of this country. This has meant that the event has been enthusiastically received by the public.
We go back home excited about this fulfilling experience. We have gathered important knowledge during this innovative event and we expect to return to the next edition!
